Angeline Socha, 98 of Huntley, formerly of Elk Grove, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at her home in Huntley.
She was born January 23, 1919 in Sicily, the daughter of Vito and Marianina (Modica) Cilmi. She moved to the United States with her family at age 1 and they settled in Chicago where she grew up. She was united in marriage to Vincent J. Ray in 1937. They lived in Chicago, Old Town and then later moved to the northwest side. In July of 1959 she married Stanley F. Socha and in 1975 they moved to Elk Grove. Angeline worked in the manufacturing field for many years. She was active with the Senior Club Elk Grove for 30 years, sang with the Ambassadors and enjoyed bowling. She moved to Huntley in 2016 and will be greatly missed by all.
She is survived by her daughters, Marion Kusenko of Huntley, JoAnn (William) Fuller of Dunnellon, Florida, eight grandchildren, Sharon, Steven (Donna), Matthew, Amy (Andy), Kevin, Nicole, Christina and William, eight great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Nicholas, Samantha (Justen), Justin, Nina, Sydney, Anna Marie and Sophia, three great-great grandchildren, Lucas, Hannah and Vincent and her brother-in-law, Peter Konecki of Schaumburg and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both her husbands, her daughter, Anna Marie and her sister, Sylvia.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12th at St. Julian Eymard Catholic Church, 601 Biesterfield Road, Elk Grove Village. I am deeply sorry to hear about the loss of your dear loved one. Please take comfort in the promise from Jehovah found at Revelation 21:3-5. It speaks about a time when all forms of suffering will be no more.
