KALLANDER, Frances S (Heid) of Carpentersville, IL, age 81, died peacefully Thursday, April 6, 2017. A service will be held at 3:00, Friday, June 2, her birthday, in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery (North Dort Rd, Mt. Morris). Following this, a memorial gathering and dinner will celebrate her life with friends and family members at 3244 Bending Brook Dr, Flushing. In lieu of flowers, those who wish can make memorial donations to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (www.lls.org). Frances was born in Flint, Michigan on June 2, 1935 and lived in Flint for sixty-five years before moving to Carpentersville. She married George R. Kallander on November 1, 1958 and worked for General Motors until her retirement in 2000. Strong and independent, Frances was an avid reader of fiction, loved gardening and ceramics, and took part in organizations like her condominium association where she volunteered as treasurer. She is lovingly remembered by her children Nancy (Steve) Sturtecky, George L. (Amy) Kallander, her grandchildren Hannah, Adam, Mona, and Sabrina, her sister-in-law Ruth Gage-Burns, and many special nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded by her parents Frank and Sylvia Heid, her husband George R. Kallander, her sisters Neva and Carol, her brothers Floyd and Clarence, and her twin brother Frankie. Sorry to hear of the passing of Aunt Franny. She will be so missed by all of us. She was a gentle, loving person and Jim and I loved her. God Bless you and your family during this difficult time.
