Patricia (Patsy) Rassilyer, 90 of Sun City, Huntley, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017 at JourneyCare in Woodstock.
Patsy was born May 22, 1926 in Chicago to Patrick and Charlotte (McCann) Mannion. Raised in Chicago, Patsy graduated from Foreman High school. She worked at various places throughout her life. Her fondest memories were of the years she spent at the Chicago Board of Trade where she worked until retirement in the mid-1970s. In 1972 Patsy was united in marriage to John Rassilyer of Chicago, and upon retirement the couple moved to Arkansas where they made their home for many years. Following John’s death in 1983, Patsy returned to the Chicago area, and later moved to Huntley in 2006. Patsy especially enjoyed dancing, bowling, traveling, reading and time with family.
Patsy is survived by her daughters, Ronnaleigh (Fredrick) Schmidt of Huntley, Peggy Morgan of Oak Park, her step-son, Michael Rassilyer of Urbana, her grandchildren, Peggy (Rodney) Smith, John Morgan and Kelly (Robert) Ballantyne, and her great-grandchildren, Quinn, Cara, Eli and Sam as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John, four brothers and five sisters.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 18th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 297 E. Jefferson Street, Hampshire. The family will begin greeting friends at the church prior to the mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at a later date in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
