Lorraine Schuetz, age 91, of Huntley, died July 2, 2017 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at DeFiore Jorgensen Funeral Home, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 6, with visitation from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., all at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntley or Journeycare Hospice of Barrington.
On October 26, 1946, she married LeRoy Schuetz, during their marriage they raised eight children and together they enjoyed archery, gardening, camping, square dancing, biking and golfing.
In 2000, Lorraine and LeRoy moved from wheeling and then made their home in Sun City, and she became active in many clubs and organizations. Later in her life some of Lorraine’s favorite things were, braiding rugs, playing cards, and her greatest joy was quilting and creating quilts for her family
She is survived by her eight children, Roy (Linda) Schuetz, JoAnn (Dick) Robuck, Linda (Bill) Stemmermann, Mark (Linda) Schuetz, Judy (Tom) Rudolph, Bruce (Kris) Schuetz, Laura (Mike) Meyer and Steve (Kimberly) Schuetz. She is also survived by her 24 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Barbara Flynn, Marcella Merriman and her brother, Paul (Lisa) Didier. Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy and by her brothers and sisters.

We are so sorry to hear of Aunt Lorraine's passing, but are so very glad that we were able to see and talk with her at Aunt Marcella's 90th birthday. What a beautiful legacy of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren she has had. She will always be remembered too for that beautiful smile!
