Obituary

William C. Moeller, 80 of Sun City, Huntley, formerly of Algonquin, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Centegra Hospital in Huntley following a lengthy illness.

He was born April 11, 1937 in Elgin, the son of Louis and Katie (Thies) Moeller. He was raised in rural Elgin and graduated from Elgin High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served in Korea. Upon returning, he attended Western Illinois University. William was united in marriage to Carlene S. Swanson on September 24, 1960. The couple made their home in Algonquin, where they raised their family. He owned and operated Moeller Remodeling, as well as, owning a number of apartments for many years. In 2015, the couple moved to Sun City, Huntley. William was a member of the Algonquin Lions, served on the Algonquin Zoning Board and enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife, Carlene of Huntley, his sons, Jeffrey (Sara) Moeller of Hampshire and Tim (Nina) Moeller of Elgin, his grandchildren, Jonathan (Gretchen), Wes (Jordyn), Jacob, Katie & Lincoln and one great-granddaughter, Makayla. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Lou.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 15th and the family will greet friends after 10:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 932 McHenry Avenue, Crystal Lake. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Prince of Peace Lutheran or the American Cancer Society.
