Dina Tomchek

Obituary

Dina Tomchek, 48, of Lake In The Hills. God gained an angel on Saturday, August 19, 2017, even though her halo has a couple dings and is slightly crooked.

Dina was born February 9, 1969 in Chicago to Darlene. She was raised in Chicago near Wrigley Field and graduated from Taft High School in 1987. She worked for many years as a customer service representative for Ameritech. Dina was an avid Cubs fan and Blackhawks fan, she absolutely loved, loved, loved, the Cubs. She was a kind and caring person who had a heart of gold and loved to make people laugh and smile. She gave of herself and lent a helping hand to others. She took special pride in anonymously picking up a stranger’s check just to see them smile. Darlene felt whole-heartedly that it was an honor and a privilege to have Dina as her daughter. Dina loved to mother her dogs and was mom to three, Amanda, Lucy and Wrigley.

She is survived by her mom, Darlene Lasota of Lake In The Hills, her step-grandfather, Howard Korbakis of Arlington Heights, her aunt, Irma Hrycyk of Norridge and her cousins, Dave (Irma) Hrycyk of Elgin and Elaine (Dan) Leshock of Schaumburg. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Rita Korbakis, her aunts, Donna and Diane and her uncle, John.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23rd and from 9:00 - 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, August 24th at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley.
