What a beautiful woman and person, Mrs. Hermes was. I am very sorry to read of your loss. With her accomplishments, her love and joys, she was an amazing woman! I won't pretend to know what you're going through, but what has helped me deal with the loss of those I love, is turning to the Scriptures, something that has been a real source of comfort. One Scripture that gives me hope is, John 11:25, which says, "Jesus said to her: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life." I hope that this verse will also comfort you and, I hope you and your family can get through this difficult time. Please accept my condolences for the loss of your beloved wife, mother, grandma and friend. Sincerely, Meryl, jw.org - healingwordsforu@gmail.com

Dear Ernie, David, Jill and Caryn and all of your spouses, children and grandchildren, how deeply we grieve for you as you grieve June's death and her passing from this earthly live into one where she can "see God face to face" as St. Paul wrote in the early days of Christianity. I hope that scriptural reference will grant you some measure of peace as you grieve June's loss of presence in your lives. Phil and I deeply cherish our times together when we were young and our children were young. We have such fond memories of our friendship and the efforts we had in the new village, in the Women's Club and Church of the Master. I especially cherish the wonderful times we had meeting at Diane's home almost daily for coffee and conversation. Our children played together and often napped at Diane's while we continued talking. Such wonderful memories. We remember June's laugh, her smile, and her commonsense way of living, thinking, planning and parenting. She was very special to us. We will keep you in our prayers as you remember her and do what she would want you to do in moving forward in life without her but with her legacy that will always be a part of our lives as she shared herself with us fully and completely. May God's presence, compassion and peace sustain you in the days ahead. Our love to you all. Phil and Diana Sickles

We were so sorry to hear of June's passing. Our deepest sympathy to Ernie and the family on their loss. June was a special person and she will be missed. June and I were involved in Woman's Club and LCM, especially the choir. Those truly were the good, old days, and knowing her made them even better. I was fortunate to meet June's parents in church. I was the organist, and her mother shared with me her love of the hymn, Who is this Host Arrayed In White, (Hymn #314 in the old Lutheran Book of Worship -- the green book) The tune is a Norwegian folk tune. I would play it just for her, and she loved it. I dug out the book today and in spite of my dwindling piano skills played it once again for June and her mother. It is a comfort. Our love and prayers are with you all. Fondly, Lynn and Norm O'Dell
