Carol E. Marsh

Obituary

Carol E. Marsh, 85, of Sun City, Huntley, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017 in Elgin following a lengthy illness.

She was born in April 1932 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Edward and Ingrid (Erickson) Bellmore. She was united in marriage to Guy W. Marsh on August 20, 1955 in Chicago. The couple made their home in Elk Grove and later Mount Prospect, where they raised their family.
When she concluded her work in the real estate and publishing industries, she turned to a life of service. Carol was very active with her church, volunteering countless hours for Hearts for the Homeless, in the Christ Renews His Parish (CHRP) programs in Mt. Prospect and Crystal Lake, and with the St. Vincent DePaul Society at St. Mary Catholic Church. Her indomitable spirit and boundless compassion will be missed, but will be forever present in the thousands of lives she touched over the years.

Carol was known for her lively spirit, care for others, and her effervescent personality. She was blessed to have a great many friendships she developed through the years through church groups, church shows, bridge groups, social clubs, and community and neighborhood organizations.
She is survived by her husband, Guy, of Huntley; her children, Suzann (John) Look of Livermore, California, Michael Marsh of New Lexington, Ohio, Jennifer (Frank) O’Reilly of Rolling Meadows, and James (Janice) Marsh of Batavia; and her grandchildren, Darian, Garrett, Kyle, Bennett, Alexa and Ryan. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Edward.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., and the family will greet friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 9 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mercy Home for Boys & Girls. For more information, please call 847-515-8772, or online condolences can be directed to www.defiorejorgensen.com

My sincere condolences to all of you. Aunt Carol was such a loving, caring woman. She made me feel special when I saw her, those sparking eyes and that beautiful smile was contagious. She exuded love, warmth, kindness and compassion to everyone around her. Her excitement was a blessing to feel. Her hugs were so special to me. The world has lost a wonderful soul, may God care for her now.

Suzanne, I am sorry to hear about your mom. I just saw this or I would have come to the funeral. It is always too soon to lose your mother; there is no loss like it. I am thinking about you, Suzanne. I hope you find comfort soon. Be good to yourself.
