Elizabeth “Bette” Zieske, 65, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin following a lengthy illness.
She was born August 30, 1946 in Chicago, the daughter of Herman “Jerry” and Mary (Dukelow) Schammert.? She married Joseph A. Zieske on September 18, 1965 in Prospect Heights.? The couple made their home for many years in Carpentersville and Bette worked at Dundee Crown High School as support staff.? They moved to Sun City, Huntley in 2004.? She especially enjoyed spending her summers at Dell Boo Camp in Wisconsin and playing online Scrabble.?
She is survived by her husband, Joe and son, Bill both of Huntley, her daughter, Dawn (Dave Prose) Rau of Elgin and her grandsons, Corey, Jeffrey, Brandon & Brett.? She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ronald. ???????
A memorial gathering will be held at her daughter’s home from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 24th.? In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.?
