Karena R. Jager, 48 of Elgin, passed away in Zion, Illinois on the morning of Thursday, October 26, 2017 following a courageous battle with Breast Cancer.
She was born June 3, 1969 in Belvedere, Illinois, the daughter of Richard and Paulette (Dittrich) Jager. She grew up in Watseka and graduated from Watseka High School in 1987. She moved to Geneva in 1989 and she worked in modeling and as a nail technician. Later, she moved to Elgin where she owned and operated Karena’s Salon and Spa. On April 18, 2017 she married her partner of five years, Patrick J. Gordon. Karena loved time with her son, enjoyed dancing and was a motivational speaker who shared her positive outlook and spread her strength and hope with all those she encountered.
She is survived by her husband, Patrick, son, Wyatt A. Roland and her mother, Paulette Jager all of Elgin, her brother, Brian R. Jager of Elburn and her niece, Allison Jager. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. and the family will greet friends at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 11th at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to the Cancer Treatment Center of America.
